Which Awning for Your RV

  • Bag awnings are only suitable if you can easily reach the awning, as you need to manually unroll the fabric.
  • If the walls of your RV are vertically curved (e.g. Coaster bus) generally a box type awning is the best. A roll-out type awning with straight legs probably won't fit. (However, there are some curved hardwares available for roll-out awnings to cater for this).
  • 12V roll out awnings are for the customers seeking uber-luxury and convenience. They do tend to move around in the wind a bit more.
  • Manual roll out awnings tend to be the most stable in the wind, due to the triangle shape the hardware makes when rolled-out. They also have the most anti-flap accessories available.

Measuring Your Awning

  • Roll out awnings are measured from the centre of the front arm, to the centre of the rear arm.
  • It is NOT the length of the roller tube, or the length of the vinyl.
  • Most generally come in foot increments (e.g. 15', 16' etc)
  • Aussie Traveller awnings can be custom sized to any length
